IDC Staff Instructor
PADI IDC Staff Instructors are highly qualified PADI Instructors certified to teach Assistant Instructor courses independently, thereby enhancing your employment prospects, earnings potential, and standing within the dive industry. Another benefit of becoming an IDC Staff Instructor is that you can function as a teaching member of Instructor Development Courses (IDCs) under the direction of a PADI Course Director.
The IDC Staff Instructor course starts off with 3 day program that teaches you the techniques used by PADI Course Directors and PADI Instructor Examiners for evaluating IDC candidates in 4 different areas: skills demonstration; knowledge development presentations; confined water teaching presentations; open water teaching presentations. During this time you will also polish your own presentation skills, demonstration skills, and dive theory to a level expected of an IDC evaluator. Following the first phase of the IDC Staff course you will audit a full IDC along side our Course Director, and function as a part of our IDC staff with real instructor candidates.
What is Not Included:
- PADI Confined Water Evaluation Slate
- PADI Open Water Evaluation Slate
- PADI Course Director Manual
Following your IDC Staff Instructor course you can stay on and assist with additional IDCs to gain experience and important staffing credit. This staffing credit goes toward both the Master Instructor rating as well as the Course Director Training Course selection criteria.
