How long have you been diving?
I’ve been diving since I was 10 years old and I received my open water certification on my 12th birthday.
What made you want to become a PADI instructor?
I love teaching and I love diving. Since I started diving, I’ve always looked up to instructors and it’s always been my dream to become one myself.
What made you want to complete your certification in Thailand/Koh Phangan?
The great weather and the excellent dive conditions made my mind up for me.
What part of your training has surprised you?
I was surprised to see just how many skills were different compared to my previous training with another agency and how much more I learned with the skills that were included in my PADI course.
Describe a time when your training definitely helped you in diving?
I definitely feel more confident around customers and beginner divers, as well as how to handle any minor problems that occur while we’re underwater.
What is life like with your PIDS classmates?
It’s so much fun! I’ve become very good friends with them, and know that I’ve made lifelong relationships.
What is your favorite part about living/training in Koh Phangan? Why?
I love diving at Sail Rock! The PIDS family and the active social community is great too! Work hard, play hard!
What would you tell someone who is considering enrolling in a PADI PRO level course?
At PIDS you’re going to have a great time with the staff- they make you feel just like part of the family. There’s so much to do on KP, away from the diving, so you’ll have so much fun! –but the training itself is very through and you’ll learn a lot from the many experienced instructors training you. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone!
